Using the View → Group Images → By Format command, you can group photos in albums by format. This feature can come in useful for managing albums containing photos in different formats: JPEG, TIFF, RAW and video files, etc.
Run the command, and digiKam neatly groups all photos into sections by format. This can save you a lot of work manually sorting and organizing files and photos.

Been a long time user of “Digikam” and it’s a wonder, how “new features” can me constantly found. There is a bug in version 4.4.0 though: “Local Contrast” in “Enhance” worked better in previous versions. This 4.4.0 makes the picture “Flat”

Thought I would check here before making more chatter on the bug report.
dk from git, patch applied, built etc. can see the context menu, but foo.CR2 and foo.JPG are not grouped, I can still see each file as separate in album view 8(
This feature doesn’t group individual photos (i.e., foo.CR2 and foo.JPG are not bundled together), but rather divides each albums into sections by format. So if you enable the Group by Format option, the album containing the foo.CR2 and foo.JPG should have two sections — CR2 and JPG — with appropriate files in each.

This is the behaviour I expected from the setting in ‘Album View’ of group Raw and Jpeg.
Is it possible with this or other to group Raw and Jpeg such that we only see one entry in ‘Album View’ (etc) and tagging etc. applies to both?
